A single life lost is one too many – Israel disregards basic human rights as it continues its ruthless attacks on the Palestinian people:
Through the holy month of Ramadan, and continuing into the muted, Eid-al-fitr celebrations, the Muslim community in Naperville has watched in horror as Israel’s government engaged in forced evictions of Muslim and Christian Palestinians from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, raids during prayers in Al Aqsa mosque and now violent disproportionate warfare and bombings that have killed at least 31 children. We condemn all violence, and bigotry as we also call an end to the siege of Palestinian territories. As a member of the Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago (CIOGC), Islamic Center of Naperville stands united against the injustices and oppression experienced by our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
